We know that a busy toddler is a happily ever mom. So if you run out of things to do this Spring. Here are 10 fun and easy spring activities for kids to spend a happy toddler playtime during the season!

Fun spring activities for kids: Sensory Play

As a busy mom, you're probably always looking for unique activities that are both fun and educational for your little learners during spring. While most children love getting dirty in the garden, there are plenty of other activities you can do indoors to keep them entertained and learning this season without most adult supervision.

Sensory activities are a wonderful way for kids to learn about their surroundings. They help little bins explore the world around them and learn more about how they feel. This type of activity involves using different materials and objects to stimulate the senses, which can improve cognitive development, sensory processing, motor skills, and a lot more learning for kids.

There are many different ways to do sensory activities with your kids, and the possibilities are unlimited. You can use everyday items around your house, or you can purchase special sensory materials from a store. However, it is important to note that some kids and preschoolers might be sensitive to certain textures and materials, so always monitor your child during these activities.

From art activities to explore the nature, here are a few simple ideas for sensory play during Springtime:

1. Make a nature collage

This is one of the most famous preschool inspirations that you can do at home!

Collect leaves, flowers, and other natural objects, and have your child create a collage with them with their favorite shape or figure.  You can build an imagination tree with the leaves and even add sparkles and photos to it.

This is a great way to teach them about the different colors and shapes found in nature and it could easily transform into different art projects!

You can totally hang your imagination tree somewhere in your house to make your kiddo feel proud about their art!

2. Create a sensory bin

A sensory bin is one of our favorite spring activities to keep your child entertained for hours on end. Fill a bin with different materials like earth, water, foam balls, or rice, and let your child explore. You can also get creative and make themed sensory bins like a beach bin with natural beach living things like seashells and sand.

3. Make homemade play dough

This is always a classic activity that kids love. You can make several batches of play dough with different colors and scents, and let your child explore all the different textures.

4. Make homemade bubbles

Bubbles are always a fantastic fun way to play with kids, and they're really easy to make. Just mix soap and water together in a bowl, and use a straw to blow the solution into a container filled with hot water.

5. Make edible paint

This is an entertaining spring activity that kids will love. Mix food coloring with different types of yogurt or milk, and let your child paint a masterpiece. This is a great way for their little hands to explore painting. Who knows your kid’s creativity is the next Van Gogh?

6. Make homemade ice cream

This is always a fun art activity to do in the Springtime. You can use a variety of ingredients like fruit, chocolate, or nuts to make different flavors of ice cream.

7. Go on a nature walk

This is a great way to get some fresh air and explore the beauty of nature during spring. Take your child to a park, forest, or any other natural area and let them wander and explore.

Before taking them to the park, you can also introduce them to pictographs of nature and you can then start quizzing them while you are in the park. Make it learning and discovery experience for them.

8. Grow a Vegetable Garden

Kids love getting their little hands dirty, and what better way to do that than by growing a vegetable garden? You can start with a small garden or even just a few pots, and let your child help you water and care for the plants.

For sure, they’d be excited to learn they have grown crops from their backyard.

9. Make a bird feeder

The Spring season is a great way to make a bird feeder. Allow your kids to love animals. This is also a great way to teach kids about the different types of birds and how they can help them. All you need is a few materials like a pine cone, peanut butter, and birdseed. Make it fun and fulfilling for your kids!

10. Take them to the pool

The pool is a great place to cool off and have some fun during the Spring with your kids and even the whole family. Make sure to pack a few snacks and drinks, and spend the day swimming and playing in the sun.  Make sure that while they are in the pool, they also have swimming gear with them.
